York & Lancaster, PA (June 27, 2012) – The York County Economic Alliance and EDC Finance Corporation recently announced their formal partnership to provide the Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 program to York County companies. The collaboration of these two significant organizations means great things for the region.
“We at the York County Economic Alliance are excited by the opportunity to work closely with our regional friend and neighbor, EDC Finance Corporation, and to develop a relationship that takes advantage of each organization’s strengths without creating any duplication of efforts,” said Darrell W. Auterson, President & CEO of the Economic Alliance. “The businesses of York County will now have more access to the funding they need to grow their businesses and create new opportunities.”
The partnership is designed to provide small and medium-sized businesses in Central Pennsylvania long-term, fixed-rate financing which is typically available to larger businesses. A company’s access to the SBA 504 program makes a substantial impact on its ability to grow its business, expand facilities and create jobs.
“This is big news for EDC Finance Corporation. For more than half a century, we have been helping businesses grow in Lancaster County, and now we have the opportunity to partner with the York County Economic Alliance and share some of our SBA lending expertise,” said David Nikoloff, President of EDC Finance Corporation.
EDC Finance Corporation has approved 43 SBA 504 projects for more than $32 million of funding since being designated as a Certified Development Company in 2008. EDC Finance has already packaged four York County SBA 504 projects, including Byron Kehr’s recent purchase and reopening of the historic Roosevelt Tavern on North Penn Street in the City of York. The recently-formed York County Economic Alliance provides companies across York County with access to a variety of economic development funding programs.
