EDC Finance approved financing in August for Scott & Linda Wagner to construct and equip two 63’ x 700’ turkey barns on their Quarryville area farm. The Wagners were approved for a $400,000 Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan that comes with a fixed interest rate that will provide a locked loan payment for the next 15 years. The PIDA loan will complement senior project financing provided by Fulton Bank. A portion of Fulton’s senior loan was also approved for Next Generation Farmer Loan financing through EDC Finance’s partnership with Penn IDA. The Next Generation Farmer Loan allows the bank financing to receive a below market tax exempt interest rate to promote the transition of production agriculture ventures to the next generation of farmers. Construction for the project is well underway, with the future turkey flocks being contracted to Plainville Farms. |
